A Prayer from Psalm 119:33–37

Teach me, O Lord,
to walk in the way of Your wisdom.
Shape my life by Your Word,
and I will follow You faithfully to the end.

Give me understanding,
that I may not only know Your truth
but love it — and live it — with all my heart.

Lead my steps
on the path of Your commandments.
Let obedience become my joy,
and Your presence my reward.

Incline my heart
away from the glitter of greed,
and turn my affections toward what is eternal.
Let me crave Your voice more than possessions.

Guard my eyes, O Lord.
Turn them from what is fleeting and false.
Help me not to waste my gaze
on what does not give life.

Revive me in Your way.
Awaken my soul where it is tired.
Stir my spirit where it has grown numb.
Let Your Word breathe new life into me again.
