Purify My Tongue, Restore My Song
Lord, have mercy on me according to Your steadfast love.
Wash me thoroughly from every careless word, every sharp phrase, every compromised sentence that did not reflect You.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and purify my speech so it mirrors Your kindness, wisdom, and truth.
Where I have gossiped—silence me.
Where I have accused—humble me.
Where I have cursed—redeem me.
Touch my lips with Your holy fire, like You did with Isaiah,
and let the fire of Your Spirit burn away all unrighteousness.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:14).
Teach me to speak words that carry weight in heaven and peace on earth.
Let me be a woman whose mouth is a well of life (Proverbs 10:11),
whose lips feed many (Proverbs 10:21),
whose tongue writes the truth of God’s purposes (Psalm 45:1).
Let my repentance become my restoration.
Let my restoration become my testimony.
And let my testimony be spoken with power and grace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
